Job Description
Job Description: In this position, you will be participating in all phases of a typical software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, design, coding, testing, release and deployment) involved in implementation of customized software and web development projects for our clients.
You will also be expected to provide on-call production/project support as and when required and deliver end-user training for products/projects deployed.
Desired Profile:
You should possess a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering and/or Applications or equivalent subject with a minimum of two years of industry experience working in software development teams. Experience working in a offshore software development company would be an added advantage. Additional qualifications include:
- Software lifecycle skills: Familiar with software development life cycle (requirements engineering, design, coding, testing, build and/or release mgmt., deployment and product support) with experience in various life cycle models such as waterfall, rapid prototyping, spiral and others
- Design skills: Design of components of software systems on Windows* platform including basic knowledge of design patterns, UML and tools (for example, Rational Rose*, Microsoft* Visio*)
- Technology skills: Familiarity with 1 or more of the following technologies: .
1. PHP , MySQL, AJAX, Smarty Templates, HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Linux/FreeBSD with Working Knowledge of Payment Gateway Integrations like: Paypal IPN, Auth.net, WorldPay, 2Checkout etc. Hands on experience on Opensource CMS/Shoppingcart like: OSCommerce, Zencart, Joomla, phpBB, X-Cart, Cubecart etc is plus
2. ASP.NET C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, Web Services, Windows Services, XML, IIS, SQL Server 2000/2005. Knowledge of RSS, AJAX, Web 2.0 Trends, SOAP, XML feeds and Web Services is plus. Working Knowledge of Payment Gateway Integrations like: Paypal IPN, Auth.net, WorldPay, 2Checkout etc.
3. Flash, Action Script 2.0/3.0 with Database integration.
4. Flex, Flexbuilder IDE
- Strong team work and working with diverse cultures as part of geographically dispersed clientele.
- Willingness and desire to provide on-call production/project support
- High degree of customer orientation
- Self starter in a rapidly changing environment with a steep learning curve, multitasking and on the job training to deliver software in a frequent release cycles
- Quickly understand the domain and communicate to the customers in domain specific terminology
- Strong verbal and/or written communication skills and ability to influence direction using the right use of information and emotion
- Strong problem solving skills using a structured approach
- Solid commitment to task (timeline, quality)
